NEIGHBORHOOD AND SMALL AREA PLANS
ABOUT
Atlanta has a strong tradition of collaborating on neighborhood plans. These plans demonstrate that great neighborhoods are built on diversity and shared values. When residents, businesses, and property owners partner with the Department of City Planning, we better understand community needs and opportunities and can find real ways to improve our neighborhoods. Once adopted by the City, a neighborhood plan becomes part of Plan A—Atlanta’s Comprehensive Development Plan, and informs decisions on land use, zoning, infrastructure, and other City projects. Neighborhood planning keeps comprehensive planning connected to our neighborhoods and can also bring other benefits.
