EXPERIENCE 404: PORTFOLIO REVIEW

ABOUT

Portfolio Review Week is a free program supporting Atlanta-based high school and college students and recent graduates pursuing careers or academic opportunities in architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, graphic design, art, and related design fields. Participants receive personalized feedback from practicing professionals and academic mentors to strengthen their portfolios, build confidence, and advance their paths toward internships, jobs, or graduate school. The program strengthens Atlanta’s design culture by investing in emerging talent who will shape the city’s built environment.

Past Success & Impact

Previous sessions supported eight students in refining portfolios for opportunities across the Atlanta metro area. High demand—especially from freshmen seeking summer internships—has inspired plans to expand future Portfolio Review Weeks and broaden access for Atlanta’s growing community of young designers.

Why It Matters

Atlanta is a cultural hub known for its leadership in music, film, art, and innovation—and design should be an equally integral part of that identity. By offering mentorship, portfolio guidance, and access to professional networks, the program strengthens the city’s design ecosystem, expands equitable pathways into creative careers and education, and cultivates skilled professionals who will shape Atlanta’s urban form, public spaces, and overall design culture. It also supports students as they prepare competitive portfolios for college applications, internships, and local employment opportunities, ensuring that Atlanta’s next generation of designers is empowered to contribute to the city’s future.
