JACKSON STREET BRIDGE

STATUS: Under Construction.

The Jackson Street Bridge project is on track for completion in Late 2025/Early 2026.

ABOUT

The Jackson Street Bridge Project was conceived and developed by Neighborhood Planning Unit M and the Atlanta Department of City Planning's Placemaking Program.

The bridge offers one of Atlanta's most iconic skyline views and is a favorite gathering spot for both residents and visitors.

The project scope includes reconfiguring the right-of-way along Jackson Street to create a safer and more vibrant space for people. The reorganization supports a new pedestrian area extending beyond the sidewalk and a protected cycling connection between the Freedom Parkway Trail and Baker-Highland Trail.

CITY DESIGN CORE VALUES

All Office of Design initiatives incorporate at least one of the Atlanta City Design core values.

PROJECT FUNDING & PARTNERS

Construction is funded by District 5 Discretionary Renew bond funds and ATLDOT Safety & Mobility funding. Arcadis provided pro bono design services, and the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District is serving as the implementation manager.
