Amplify: Author Talk With Jon Goode

Join us for a stimulating evening of conversation with Emmy-nominated spoken-word poet and author Jon Goode. Goode, known for his thoughtful and intentional lyricism, will delve into the inspirations behind his works and his journey as a writer and performer. He will be interviewed by Brennen Collins, Associate Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at Georgia State University for Digital Pedagogy and Atlanta Studies. This event offers a unique opportunity to connect with a prominent Atlanta author and engage in a thought-provoking dialogue about literature, culture, and the art of storytelling.


About Jon Goode

Goode has published a poetry collection, "Conduit" (2015), a novel, "Mydas" (2020), and his latest collection of short stories, "Black Curio", which has been a #1 new release on Amazon since its release in September 2024. He is also co-host of WABE's City Lights Collective. He has also written for television and is the host of The Moth Atlanta, a renowned storytelling platform. Reviews praise his ability to create a bridge between the Civil Rights Movement and contemporary struggles, making his work relatable across generations.

About Brennan Collins

Brennen Collins is an Associate Director and Academic Professional at Georgia State University, serving a multifaceted role in the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Online Education (CETLOE) and the Department of English.

Collins's work encompasses a broad range of interests, including digital humanities, the intersection of the Humanities with fields like mapping, digital heritage, data visualization and curation, and immersive learning. He is also interested in creating transdisciplinary and interinstitutional projects that explore the urban landscape to enhance critical thinking and community engagement.
